Never Anywhere

Die-hard Never Anywhere fans (do I actually have any of those?) will notice something starkly different about the site: it has a new look! After much neglect, I’ve decided to give updating this blog regularly a go. So, what does this mean?

Well, to put it simply, it means there will be some changes around here! First, a different website builder, which will make it easier for my website-building-inept self to regularly update not only the content but also the style and accompanying images for this site. It also means that when I inevitably forget my laptop on future trips, I can post from my mobile phone. So, plenty of content for you! (I’m envisioning you jumping for joy right now.)

Second, if you were previously subscribed to receive new post updates from Never Anywhere, you will need to resubscribe if you want to continue receiving those. Yes, there was almost definitely a way to keep all my subscribers, but honestly, I could not figure that out…so subscribe below! Hopefully this will be the last time you have to do that. (Not promising I’ll not mess up again, though.)

Third, you may notice the URL looks a little different right now. I am working with my old domain site to transfer over neveranywhere.com, but it will likely take a week, so for a bit, we’ll be operating under the assumed alias neveranywherecom.wordpress.com. Eventually, you’ll be able to call us by our old name again.

Fourth, you can expect more regular posts. My main two goals in life used to be (in this order) to 1.) travel the world and 2.) become a writer. So, I’m giving both of those dreams a go, in their own way. 

“But Kaitlyn!” I hear you inquiring. “You surely aren’t planning to travel full-time?” 

Not at this moment, no. While I’d love to do some longer-term travel, it’s not in the cards for me right now.

“So then,” you insist before I can finish, “what exactly are you going to be posting?”

So glad you asked. I plan to share some tips, tricks, and thoughts about travel more broadly. In fact, I have a semi-rough schedule planned out. I plan to post on Saturdays, Mondays, and Thursdays. My Monday and Thursday posts will be dedicated to continual series that will tie together, and my Saturday posts will be more one-off. I may even incorporate some videos in there, if I’m feeling extra creative.

But Never Anywhere is a community, is it not? (I’m envisioning you vigorously nodding right now.) So, how can you get involved? Well, it’s pretty simple: if you like a post (or if you have another strong feeling about it, like hate, disgust, melancholy…), please let me know in the comments! I would love to hear from you. Please comment away. And if something strikes your fancy, or if you find something helpful, or if you’re especially entertained by something, please share it with your friends, foes, and family. And, most of all, subscribe to get regular updates.

Oh, wait – how could I forget? We have a new logo around here. Is it the most professional? Definitely not. But…it was made by yours truly, like everything else on this site. So, that’s something, isn’t it?
